Netond SkinScore is developed and operated by Netond ("we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of both merchants and their customers.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use, store, and protect it, and the choices available to you when merchants install and use our Shopify app or when customers interact with quizzes, product recommendations, AI-powered skincare insights, and the storefront chatbot on a merchant's Shopify store.

This Privacy Policy applies to Shopify merchants who install and use Netond SkinScore, as well as customers who interact with the app on a merchant's Shopify store. This includes customers who complete quizzes, view personalised product recommendations, access AI-powered skincare insights, or use the AI chatbot available on the storefront.

When you install Netond SkinScore, we collect certain information from Shopify to provide and operate the app. This includes your shop name, shop domain, shop email address, and the secure access credentials required to connect with and operate your Shopify store.

We also collect and store information needed to manage your account and app settings. This may include staff session details (such as user ID, name, email address, and locale), billing and subscription information, app configuration (including quizzes, scoring rules, display settings, AI-powered insights, and activity logs), and any feedback you choose to provide when uninstalling the app.

Depending on how each merchant configures their quizzes, customers may provide information such as their name, email address, phone number, quiz responses, and marketing consent preferences. That information is collected into the merchant's Shopify store, including customer records, customer metafields, and tags.

Netond also stores limited customer form-submission data in its secure database: the Shopify customer ID; first name and last name; submission metadata describing which quiz fields were submitted (with answer values masked); and a one-way hash fingerprint of the answers used only for deduplication. Netond does not store customer email addresses, phone numbers, or plaintext quiz answer values in these submission records. Plaintext quiz answers remain in the merchant's Shopify store.

When AI-powered skincare insights or the AI chatbot are used, we may process information required to generate personalised responses. Merchants have full control over these features and can enable or disable AI-powered insights from the app settings.

To provide and maintain Netond SkinScore, we store merchant and app-related information in our secure database. This includes shop details, staff session information, app settings (such as quizzes, scoring rules, display settings, and AI configuration), billing and subscription records, usage statistics, and product import and export history.

For customer form submissions, Netond stores the Shopify customer ID, first name, last name, masked quiz-field submission metadata, and a one-way answer fingerprint for deduplication. Customer email addresses, phone numbers, and plaintext quiz answers are not stored in these Netond submission records and remain in the merchant's Shopify store.

When AI-powered skincare insights or the AI chatbot are used, Netond stores the AI insights and chatbot messages in its database to provide the feature and apply usage limits based on the merchant's subscription plan.

As part of the app's normal operation, we also store certain app configuration settings in Shopify shop metafields to ensure the app functions correctly.

For customers who complete a quiz without logging in, quiz progress may be temporarily stored in their web browser to prevent data loss before the quiz is submitted. After submission, a short-lived guest profile (which may include name, email, and quiz responses) may also remain on the customer's device for a limited time so the storefront experience can continue. This information stays on the customer's device and is not stored by Netond as a separate customer email or quiz-answers database. Quiz answers and customer details collected at submit time are written to the merchant's Shopify store when a Shopify customer record is created or updated.

Netond SkinScore includes a profile extension for Shopify's customer account pages, allowing logged-in customers to view and update their quiz information directly from their account.

Any changes made by the customer are saved to the merchant's Shopify customer metafields. Product match scores and personalised recommendations are automatically updated to reflect the latest information.

We use the information we collect to operate and improve Netond SkinScore. This includes providing quiz functionality, generating product match scores and personalised recommendations, delivering AI-powered skincare insights and chatbot responses, managing billing and subscriptions, providing customer support, monitoring app performance, and improving our services.

We do not sell personal information or use merchant or customer data for third-party advertising.

When AI-powered skincare insights or the AI chatbot are enabled, we process the information required to generate personalised responses. The generated responses are shown on the merchant's storefront and in the app's admin interface. Netond stores the AI insights and chatbot messages in its database to provide the feature and apply usage limits.

To provide these AI features, we may use trusted AI service providers, such as Google Gemini or DeepSeek. These providers process the information solely to generate the requested AI response and do not use it for advertising.

We also work with trusted service providers to operate Netond SkinScore, including Shopify for commerce services and Supabase for securely storing merchant and app operational data, including AI insights and chatbot messages when applicable. This data is removed with shop-specific data when the app is uninstalled or as required by Shopify's compliance processes.

Plaintext quiz answer values and customer email addresses are not retained in Netond's quiz submission records; primary storage of quiz answers remains in the merchant's Shopify store. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers in the current version of the app.

We retain merchant and app-related information only for as long as necessary to provide and maintain Netond SkinScore.

Customer information stored in the merchant's Shopify store, including customer records and metafields, remains in the merchant's control and is not automatically removed when the app is uninstalled.

When a merchant uninstalls Netond SkinScore, we delete shop-specific data from our systems in accordance with Shopify's required compliance webhooks and data retention requirements.

Requests to access or delete customer data are handled through Shopify's mandatory compliance processes. Customers may also contact us directly using the email address provided below for privacy-related requests.

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect and store. This includes using secure connections (HTTPS), encrypted credentials, and access controls to help safeguard your data. While we strive to protect your information, no method of data transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Merchants are responsible for the customer information collected through their Shopify store and remain the data controller for customer records and quiz responses stored in Shopify.

Merchants are responsible for configuring their quizzes and data collection fields, enabling and managing AI-powered features, reviewing any custom AI instructions, obtaining any required customer consents, and maintaining an up-to-date privacy policy that accurately reflects how customer information is collected and used.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, update, or request the deletion of your personal information.

Merchants and customers may contact us using the email address provided below for privacy-related requests. We also comply with Shopify's mandatory data access and deletion requirements through its compliance webhooks.

If you would like to access or correct quiz information submitted through a merchant's Shopify store, you should contact that merchant directly, as they control the customer data stored in their Shopify store. If the merchant has enabled Netond SkinScore's customer account profile extension, logged-in customers can also view and update their quiz information directly from their account.
